COMAH 5yr Review

COMAH Regulation 8 requires operators of top tier sites to review and where necessary, revise their safety reports fully at least every 5 years.

The RAS Gap Analysis provides a systematic methodology for checking the information in the COMAH Safety Report against the COMAH criteria and guidance.

It determines where an information gap exists, and offers advice on actions required. It is then used as the basis for updating the COMAH Safety Report.

The gap analysis provides a focused and systematic strucure for the review process.

The gap analysis includes:

  • Review against the more detailed guidance provided by the CA in 2006.
  • Review of New Criteria added to the SRAM in 2006.
  • Review of Additional Information required as a result of recent learning (including recommendations from recent incidents such as Buncefield) & other CA guidance.
  • Key Areas of change to be reviewed (based on the CA guidance document ‘guidance for operators - review and revision of COMAH safety reports’).
  • Review of supplementary information provided in response to requests from the CA - with the aim of consolidating this information into the main report.
